Leather Patch Hat Co. is a brand of Battle Born Clothing, a decorating shop at 3 Pebble Beach Dr in Yerington, Nevada. We make custom leather patch hats: we laser-engrave your logo into leather on an OMTech 80-watt CO2 laser, cut the patch to shape, and attach it to a Richardson, YP Classics, Flexfit, Port Authority, Decky or Zapped hat with our own heat process on a two-platen hat press (or sew it on if you prefer). We have made leather patches since 2020 and we aim to be the top leather patch hat maker in the USA. The same shop runs two commercial embroidery heads, so a patch on the front and embroidered text on the back or side is one job, not two vendors. Most of our patch hat orders are 48 to 300 pieces for one company: field crews, sales teams, trade-show giveaways, dealer gifts. At those quantities the Richardson 112 with a laser-engraved leather patch runs $20.50 each at 48 and $18.50 each at 144, all-in. One logo, one hat style, mixed colors are fine.
Company and corporate orders
Send a vector logo (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) and we engrave it as-is. Leather engraving holds fine line work and small text better than embroidery, so a wordmark with a tagline under it usually works without simplifying. We can split one order across hat colors at no extra charge as long as the patch stays the same.
Reorders
Your engraving file stays on our laser. A reorder of the same patch on the same hat is priced at the quantity you reorder, with no new setup. Many companies order 48 to start and 144 once the first batch is gone.
Customer-supplied hats
Already have hats? We will patch them for the decoration price plus $2 per item handling: $9.00 each for 48 glued patches on hats you supply. Industry-standard spoilage allowance is about 4%; we aim for zero.
Breweries, ranches and outfitters
Patch hats sell at the taproom counter, the ranch gate and the guide shop. Leather and mesh is the look that moves, and it photographs well on a shelf. Our busiest styles for resale are the Richardson 112, the YP Classics 6606 retro trucker and the Richardson 256 rope cap.
Retail-ready quantities
A 48-piece run split two ways (say 24 heather grey/black and 24 loden/tan) is the common first order for a taproom or a ranch brand. At $20.50 each for the 112, most shops retail these at $35 to $40.
Guide services and hunting outfitters
Camo and earth tones on a structured trucker, a simple engraved outfitter logo, OSFA with XL available on the 112. We ship to lodges and base camps anywhere in the US.
Small runs, weddings and events
There is no minimum on leather patch hats. Price breaks start at 12 pieces ($21.50 each on a Richardson 112) and step down every 24. A dozen hats for a wedding party, a bachelor trip or a family reunion is a normal order for us; the per-hat price is just higher than a 144-piece company run.
Wedding party and bachelor/bachelorette hats
One patch design per order keeps the price at the tier rate. If each hat needs a different name, ask for a quote; we price personalized patches per job.
Real-estate closing gifts and small batches
A 12-piece order of patch hats with a brokerage or team logo makes a closing gift that gets worn. Keep the design on one file and we can run a dozen at a time as you need them.

Is there a minimum order?
No. Pricing starts at the 12-23 tier and breaks every 24 pieces. We make a dozen for a wedding and 300 for a company.
How long does it take?

Are the patches real leather?
We laser-engrave and cut leather patches on an OMTech 80-watt CO2 laser and have since 2020. Current leather options are listed on your quote and shown on the proof.
Are patches glued or sewn?
Glued by default, using our own heat process on a two-platen hat press. Sewn-on (edge-stitched on our commercial embroidery machines) is $1 more per hat.
Is there a setup fee?
No setup or digitizing fee for laser-engraved patches. If you add embroidery, digitizing is $18.99 one time per design.
What artwork do you need?
Vector (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG) preferred; a 300 dpi PNG works for most logos. One color. We proof it before engraving.
Can you engrave fine detail and small text?
Yes. Leather engraving holds lines down to about 0.5 pt and text down to about 0.1 inch tall, which is finer than embroidery.
Can I use my own hats?
Yes. Decoration price plus $2 per item handling. Industry-standard spoilage allowance is about 4%; we aim for zero.
Which hats do you recommend?
Richardson 112 for most jobs. YP Classics 6606 for a lower price, 256 or 258 for a rope cap, 168 for a big patch, 115 for a low crown, Flexfit 110M for a stretch fit, SP12 beanie for winter.
