Leather colors and patch shapes

Two choices shape the look more than anything else: the leather tone and the patch outline. Here is how we guide buyers through both, and what we show on the proof so you can decide before anything is engraved.

Leather color

Engraving removes the top surface of the leather. On light and tan leather the engraved area darkens, giving a brown-on-tan look with strong contrast. On dark leather the engraved area goes lighter. Both read well; contrast is highest on tan. Tell us the hat colors and we will recommend a leather tone that stands out against them. Current leather options are listed on your quote and shown on the proof.

Questions

Can I get more than one leather color in an order?

Yes, if the patch artwork is the same. Tell us the split and it is proofed as one job.

Can the patch be a custom shape?

Yes. We cut the outline on the laser. Simple outlines are included; complex ones are quoted per job.
